Sketch Cover Saturday 01

Kicking off the first Sketch Cover Saturday with an Optimus Prime. It was a bit more of a challenge than anticipated with the paper stock starting to disintegrate with the lightest of watercolor washes.

Pencils

I also learned that I should be laying down the markers/watercolors before throwing down the inks. Those looked ok after a pass prior to adding colors.

Inks

The final results looked ok for the first one of these that I have done in years.

Optimus Colors

I do not have a character plan for Week 02 but, I am planning to do a whole lot of research into how the actual pros do these covers in mixed media.
